GAAAME OVAAAR.

Jesus fucking christ, that gets annoying.

Regardless, it was a decent game, with a decent selection of music, not that I would vouch for it in the contest.

My favorite track was probably Tetris on Speed, although

GAAAAAMME OVAAAARR

Drove me off too fast to sample all of the songs.

Why must you be such an elitist bastard?

You may recognize me from my review of your other game, Quadrobarrel Defence, so I must ask you this: Why must you be such an elitist with your games?

It's a miricle my browser didn't crash with as much as the lag raped my computer. I'm rating as to what the game might of been- had it actually been playable.

Lagged out more than Coolio Niato's submissions, and that's saying something.

Sorry.
I dont make games for OLD machines. p4 2.8Ghz which is quite enough for this game was released in 2002. Thats 5 years ago.

The ultimate test of digital dexterity.

This just topped Coolio DJ for my favorite Rock Out! submission. :D

It is an epic game, but the learning curve's a bit steep; It took me two tries to beat easy, and then about twenty for medium... Tom Fulp got eaten a lot. :(

After that, though, I had no trouble beating hard, and I'm currently working towards unlocking Insane and Secret.

Also, when a monster hops in the portal, the shaft of light is a bit extreme; it can be distracting enough that you miss more monsters, and the effect can snowball into an instant loss. :(

Overall, 5/5, 9/10. Great show, good luck in the contest!

Also, as an aside to every last one of you bastards who opened this up, played easy once, failed miserably, closed the window, voted 0, and wrote a crap review:

You suck, and I hate every single one of you.
Go die in a fire. >:(

Glaiel-Gamer responds:

When you unlock the super special mystery secret prize, PM me with your opinions if the awesomness of it doesn't cause your limbs to explode.

Clever.

At first, I was quite impressed, as the mystical feline always got my number right. After a bit of toying around, I began to look closer, unraveling the formula over the next few tests.

For the sake of the suspension of disbelief, I won't post the solution here, as if the magician reveals his secret, there's no point to the show.

Quite the methematical wizardry there, though it didn't keep me fooled for long.

Good show. :)

Epic, but not perfect- yet.

I would like to begin by saying that this is easily the best fighting game I have ever played on Newgrounds.

T3H PL00X SID3Z:

- Awesome graphics
- Amazing Newgrounds flavor
- Easy to play; the controls were always smooth and never felt clunky
- 95% Lag Free
- The humor factor, including the fact that I managed to beat Convict's last stage (through a well placed P-Bot morph and Lvl 30 powerup), and still got the privelege of watching my elder brother get anally raped by Asshole for at least two more hours
- The game introduced me to some new elements of NG history, like Piconjo and Convict
- P-Bot as a playable character, and the inclusion of the NG tank
- All of the characters were well balanced
- Story mode added to replayability
- Challenge Mode. =)

N33DZ T3h 1MP00V3M3N7Z / AD TH1Z:

- Sound was fairly bland and repetative
- Powerups were annoying
- Very bare-bones survival mode; add randomization to the characters, increase difficulty/number of opponents as the fight goes on, add stage select
- Unlockables were sparse and a pain in the ass to unlock, thus, I never got them all
- I found no incentive whatsoever to use VS mode
- It would at least be nice to control WHEN Convict morphs, if not what
- Add moar items / unlockables
- Salad Fingers fucking creeps me out. >_>
- All the growth 'bonus' did was make you a bigger target, it didn't increase power/endurance enough to be worth it.
- More characters? Classics like Madness and SClock come to mind, as well as characters such as Audio Bot and Recoil

~ ONLINE MULTIPLAYAAAR!

- Also, MindChamber 4 Boss FT fucking W!

NegativeONE responds:

From the sounds of it, you have a good grip of the game, based on how you beat Convict's level. I also like to hear that someone appreciated the balance of the characters. A lot of planning and factors went into it, including some things that were harder to notice, like guard strength. For example, see how long you can block as Alloy VS Salad Fingers. The heavy pickup was kinda mixed. I wanted to add a power boost to it, but that would make it too similar to range. The main advantage of it was that you could stomp to make characters toss into the air, making them sitting ducks for aerial attacks. I'll consider balancing it better for the future though. This is one of my favorite reviews so far as you seem to have an above average understanding of game mechanics, so thanks for dropping some words.

Nothing like a nice cup o' painful fiery death. =D

On an opening note, I loved this game, voted 5, and feel it deserves a lot more than the daily 3rd it got.

Graphics: The graphics were somewhat impressive, even playing on low quality, though I think the HUD could use some upgrading, for a more cockpit-like feel. The explosions were sweet and satisfying.

Style: Completely innovative, I've never seen a game like this before, and it really adds a feeling of depth when you're a single cog in the war machine, rather than a super-powered mega soldier, like in most games. The game was still awesome no matter how many times I died. On that note, difficulty settings might be nice.

I also loved the comm chatter, it was useful during battles for coordinated attacks and keeping tabs on enemy cruisers, and gave something of a personality to your faceless minions.

Sound: Nice to see some exellent tracks off the Audio Portal, this is definitely one of the high points of the game. The explosions were somewhat soft, though. Also, perhaps add voice acting to the comm chatter?

Violence: Painful fiery death. =D

Interactivity: The controls were simple, and rarely felt cumbersome, exept when trying to navigate behind enemy fighters (Damn evesive maneuvers. >_>). Options to strafe and loop might be nice, though.

Humor: Quadrape, my Alphas bragging about their kill counts, and the mad adrenilene rush you get from destroying enemy testudons/stations had me cackling throught the play session.

Overall: And exellent and innovative game, deserves a solid 5/5.

Suggestions for Azul Baronis II:

- Improved Comm Channel: I loved this feature, but it got a little repetative after awhile, and was limited in use. Please add more phrases/ utility to the comm, and maybe voice acting.

- Improved maneuverability: Options for evasive maneuverability, like rolling, strafing, and looping.

- Squad/Field commands: While it's awesome to be a part of the huge fleet-to-fleet battles, I /am/ the Dictator, and would like to be able to control the actions of my fleet, at least to some extent. Options include, but are not limited to:

-- Follow me
-- Hold back
-- Defend the cruisers
-- Flank the enemy
-- Attack enemy fighters/cruisers

- Ship/fleet customization / more ship classes: Self explanitory. =)

-Difficulty Settings: The game was a tad bit hard, while the forces were generally even, if the enemy had one more destroyer or tesudon, they could easily rape your fleet. This was only worsened by having no control over your allies.

FOR THE DICTATOR!

One bullet. Six chambers. Eighty tons of epic win.

Russian roulette is a game of chance. That is, you've got a 1 in 6 chance of blowing your own brains out.

Adding the before simple game of rock paper scissors to it adds an amazing amount of depth, and the Pico theme is just icing on the cake.

This is an epic game of chance, logic, psychological warfare, guns, death, and ninjas.

9/10

5/5

PS: Look for me on the highscore tables. ;)

You, sir, win the internets.

Needless to say, this was an awesome game, and, in my opinion, better than your StarCraft FA series, especially for not being a 'serious' project.

However, there were a couple things that need tweaked, the music's a bit soft (and could probably use some doomish/boss fight music for level 30. =P), and the innovative four-barrel design of the turret had little to no bearing on gameplay, I've got to level 30 using only one gun. However, this is by far the best turret game I've ever played.

Haven't beat lvl 30 tho, still can't get past the 25-second mark (2 tries so far). =|

To all you whiners out there:

This game is challenging, but overall, isn't /that/ tough.

Seriously. I got to lvl 30 using one gun, and only dying once prior to it.

So, some advice.

USE. MINES.

If you don't deploy mines, you're a dumbass, plain and simple. For best effect, place them in a ring around your turret. For main weapons, I use the Implosion Cannon (replaced by the AntiMatter Cannon), supplemented by the Ion Cannon, which remains my personal favorite. Ionize weaker enimies, blast tougher ones.

Upgrade Capacitor more. If you run out of energy, you're screwed. Damage is also essential. Upgrade Shields less than the other two: they're fairly weak anyway, and the best defence is a good offence.

When you hit level 29-30, you're going to face slick looking ships that take two antimatter blasts to kill, even with damage fully upgraded. These ARE NOT your main priority. Sure- they're tough. However, they do fairly little damage, spread the pain around, especially on things like the little missile tanks.

Ten nuke level: Spiff!

Not very hard, either. If you're placing mines properly (And that means YOU, dumbass. You know who you are.), followed by shooting ones that dodge your mines with the Ion Cannon, it's clean sailing.

Don't bother wasting money on Core (multi-turret) or Nuke upgrades, they're not that useful. (Hell, I never even bought the nuke.)

Don't underestimate the ShockWave Drive, it's an exellent defense mechanism. While it has a smaller blast radius than I'd like, it's perfect for giving you breathing room when you're being swarmed by the little blue bomb guys.

Finally:

Don't waste ammunition. Practically all weapons, especially the Implosion and Ion Cannons, require aim and finesse. The less shots you waste, the more energy you have! The Implosion Cannon leaves you temporarily unable to move your turret, and uses a lot of energy, so don't miss!

If you follow these simple guidlines, you'll have a hell of a lot less to whine about. ;)

Oh- and play on low quality. A lot less lag that way.

Cheers to DZ for the best turret game to date!

PS: You also get bonus points for the nifty head-asplodie effect. =D

Nice review and hints, thanx :P

> I could not find any other soundtrack that would fit better.. as for using several soundtracks - I didn't want to increase the filesize.
